Empowering People and Communities

Ministry of Eco Education

At its core, the Ministry of Eco Education (MEE) empowers educators to embed sustainability into everyday teaching. We curate the best free resources and opportunities from hundreds of organisations, bringing them together in a clear, holistic framework.

Our cross-curricular learning journeys, mapped to the national curriculum and designed for all age groups, provide teachers with the ability to guide students through big questions that matter.

Rooted in the expertise of people and organisations working to create a greener Britain, our approach is intended to help schools nurture the next generation to achieve a green Britain.

We have a vision of an education system where every school educates for a green future. We are on a mission to support every teacher to weave sustainability across their curriculum.

Young Green Briton Challenge

The Young Green Briton Challenge empowers students aged 11–18 to turn ideas into action for the planet. The Green Britain Foundation is the founding and cornerstone funder of this national year-long programme bringing climate education, innovation and entrepreneurship into schools - helping young people design real solutions to local environmental challenges.

Since launching in 2022, the Challenge has reached more than 14,000 young people across England, with over 600 projects developed and 50 brought to life in communities.

Together, we are building a movement of young climate leaders, empowering young people with the skills, confidence, and optimism needed to create meaningful climate solutions.

Land Stewardship

Land Stewardship

The Green Britain Foundation is committed to making space for nature to enhance ecosystem resilience and human wellbeing. We currently own over 400 acres (165 hectares) of land across 4 different sites which we actively manage for habitat restoration and biodiversity improvement, rewilding and species reintroductions. This forms the basis for our three R’s, the principles that guides our land conservation and nature recovery programmes: Rewilding, Reintroducing, Replanting.

Looking after the seas

The Green Britain Foundation is passionate about protecting marine environments from the devastating effects of plastic pollution and discarded fishing gear, through to restoring UK waters through the restoration of seagrass beds and the creation of shellfish reefs.

We’re proud to be helping create a clean and healthy ecosystem by improving our coastlines and estuaries with an exciting oyster ‘nursery’ we are funding. Oysters are known for their carbon sequestration and oxygen production capabilities and for habitat creation.  We will keep you updated here.
